The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on Women: how it nurtures discriminations towards women and strengthens gender inequality

Abstract

The evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is strengthening the gender gap and is more a curse than a blessing. Artificial Intelligence is growing fast, much faster than we think, and it is impacting our lives in ways we do not even realize. However, we are playing catch up with the evolution of Artificial Intelligence. Regulations are lagging, in so many fields, but essentially in human rights and women’s rights Artificial Intelligence is moving fast, much faster than gender equality. As much as it is important today to keep on striving for more gender equality, it is crucial to start thinking about how Artificial Intelligence should and could benefit all of humanity, and not just fifty percent of humanity, leaving the other half behind, leaving women behind.
